Bartlett School Modules (UML)
The Bartlett Community Partnership School, Lowell, MA, operates in collaboration with UML and serves as a model for early childhood multi-cultural education, staff development, and parental involvement. Since 2006 CHN has provided content for extended day and enrichment programs. The programs are delivered as three five-week segments with UML undergraduate and graduate students act as "module experts" in delivering specific modules. Modules include 1) how small is nano?, 2) measuring at the nanoscale, 3) small and surface area, 4) nanotextiles, 5) electrospinning nanofibers, 6) what can you do with temperature-sensitive materials?, 7) nanotechnology-based solar cells, and 8) lithography.

GeckoMan Game
Working in collaboration with Metaversal Studios, a company that specializes in educational game creation, the CHN has created "GeckoMan," a game that offers an interdisciplinary look at nanotechnology's scientific and social implications. “GeckoMan” teaches, through game play, the principles of nanoscale force interactions. The goal is a game that produces an “intuitive” understanding of these otherwise non-intuitive forces. The game is intended to be distributed to middle-school and high-school students through a variety of channels, including popular Internet gaming sites.
