Capstone

Capstone course(s) and capstone projects. The capstone projects for selected students are currently being offered under a range of senior thesis, and other 'special projects' courses. Seven projects involving 13 students were finished by the end of the 2005-2006 academic year. These projects include four extensions of summer 2005 REU projects; (indicated by the *asterisks). The capstone projects are listed below.

Don Carlson (physics, UNH), "Ion Beam Assisted Deposition of Gold on SiO2 Substrates," advisor: James Harper, UNH

Mercedes Castromonte, Charlie Lam, Derek Sobeczyk, Danny Tam, and Andrew Yurko (mechanical and industrial engineering, NEU), "Nanoloom," advisor: Jeffrey Ruberti (NEU)

Sarah Caulfield, Lindsay Donigian, and Shadbeh Taghizade (plastics engineering, UML), "The Effects of Additives on Injection Molded Polystyrene Nanofeatures," advisor: Carol Barry, UML

Nicholas Dellas* (physics, UNH), "Ion Beam Assisted Deposition Studies," advisor: James Harper, UNH

Joseph Dunn* (chemistry, UNH), "Functionalizing [60]Fullerene via Solid State Reactions in a Mixing Mill," advisor: Glen Miller, UNH
